Phi Beta Delta honors those who serve internationalism - the idea of a world connected, of respect for different traditions, of the need for education to enhance knowledge of the many cultures that are part of a globe that we all must share.
Its members include Secretary of State Colin Powell, Mrs. William Fulbright, Noble Peace Prize Laureate Norman Borlaug, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, scholars such as Seymour Martin Lipset and Larry Diamond, and many others who exemplify those ideals.
The Executive Director of Phi Beta Delta is Dr. Yvonne Captain, Past President of the international organization and Professor at George Washington University.
She succeeds Eileen Evans, also long connected with George Washington University, who died recently in a tragic accident. See Washington Post article on Dr. Evans.
