Wabash College will host an Entrepreneur Summit on Saturday, February 12. The event will take place in Hays Science Hall in room 104, and it is free and open to the public. (RSVPs required.)

"Our goal is to bring together Wabash entrepreneurs to share best practices and ideas, and to help you make valuable connections with other Wabash entrepreneurs,” said Scott Crawford, director of the Schroeder Center for Career Development.

The Summit begins at 9:30 and features six different topics ranging from legal issues to social networking. Leading the discussions will be Wabash alumni entrepreneurs.

Lauren Berger of the Young Entrepreneur Council and the CEO of Intern Queen, Inc., will give the opening keynote address entitled, “Putting Your Ideas Into Action.”

“In addition to alumni participants, we're inviting students interested in entrepreneurial pursuits, as well as members of the Crawfordsville community,” said Crawford. “We’re trying to connect Wabash alumni who have entrepreneurial interests or who own businesses, and get them to share their ideas. Our hope is to create an ongoing group of alumni, students, and community members who can network and share ideas about starting and running businesses.”

Lauren Berger was ranked fifth on Business Week magazine’s annual list of Young Entrepreneurs 25 Under 25. Mobile Youth has placed her in the top 10 Youth Marketing Minds of 2010.

Berger is CEO of Intern Queen Inc, an online internship destination that helps students find and apply for internships while also educating them on how to make the most of their experiences. Berger grew up in Clearwater, Florida and participated in 15 internships during her four years of college (MTV, FOX, BWR Public Relations, and NBC).

Now, as CEO of Intern Queen Inc. and National College Speaker, Berger works with over 500 employers located all over the US and in Canada. Her site, InternQueen.com, reaches over 40,000 different students, parents, and employers each month.

"The Wabash Entrepreneur Summit provides insight into an extensive alumni base in the exciting filed of entrepreneurship,” said student organizer Adam Miller. “Lacking a specific degree in entrepreneurship, participants will have the opportunity to connect with alumni who have gone on to create successful businesses after their time at Wabash."

The Wabash Entrepreneur Summit is free, but participants must RSVP via email. RSVPs must be received by Wednesday, February 9.
