WABASH STUDENT CIRCULATION POLICIES
Wabash Photo ID card
You must present your ID card when checking out materials. The card also has a magnetic strip on the back for adding value in order to use the library photocopy machine. There is no charge to replace a lost or damaged ID card. You may obtain a replacement ID card through Information Technology Services in Baxter Hall room 29. Please call Jamie Ross (x6302) to make an appointment.
Loan Periods
Books and government documents may be checked out by students until the end of the semester. Bound periodicals may be borrowed for 48 hours; CDs, DVDs, videos and LPs for one week. Classroom reserves loan periods vary.
Recall Policy
An item loaned to you may be recalled after a two week period by another Wabash community member. When recalled the item must be returned within a 24 hour period.
Group Study Rooms
The library has a limited number of group study rooms, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fines for Reserves
The Circulation Desk provides access to reserve materials (items set aside by instructors for students to read for their class). Because these reserve materials are high demand items, to ensure fair access for all students in a class those who do not return reserves face stiff fines.
Within the first hour:
1-15 minutes: 25 cents
16-30 minutes: 50 cents
31-45 minutes: 75 cents
46-60 minutes: $1.00
2-5 hours overdue: $2.00 per hour
6 or more hours: automatic $25.00 fee
Unpaid fines are forwarded to the College Business Office each semester and will appear on bills issued by that office. Overdue material has to be RETURNED; it can't be renewed, although it can be checked out again.
Lost/Damage Materials Charges
We do not charge daily fines for overdue general collection materials, government documents, and media. As a courtesy, when an item becomes overdue, three (3) notices are sent asking for return or renewal of the item. Please note that an overdue item can only be renewed via personal visit to the Library. If after the third notice the item remains overdue, a fourth notice generates a billing fee and a replacement fee. The billing fee and one half of the replacement fee are nonrefundable processing charges.
Questions and concerns can be directed to Ms. Diane Norton, Circulation Supervisor, at 765-361-6330 (nortond@wabash.edu).
