Special search commands:
 

To find words that are close to each other, use the tilde (~) for proximity.  For example, to find the word debt with ten words of forgiveness, use the search "debt forgiveness"~10 

To find single and plural of a word, use "& ". For example, "cat&" finds "cat" or "cats "

To find words with a common root, use "# ".  For example, "operat#" finds "operation" and "operator".  Be careful because "opera#" also finds "opera".

JSTOR's new interface breaks search results into facets based on year of publication, discipline, journal name, authors, etc.  It also shows the frequency of key words in each article.
