Brass Quintet and Jazz Combo to Present End-Of-Year Concert

The Wabash College Brass Quintet and Jazz Combo will join forces to present their year-end concert on Friday, April 23 at 8 p.m. in Salter Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center. The Brass Quintet, which includes student and community members, will present a program from the 16th through 20th centuries, including works by Tomás Luis de Victoria, J. S. Bach, Isaac Albéniz, Victor Ewald, and Lennie Niehaus, along with arrangements of popular songs, including Fats Waller’s Ain’t Misbehavin’. Friday’s concert will also feature a solo performance by senior Gary Moore of Giuseppe Antonio Capuzzi’s Andante and Rondo. The Jazz Combo, which also includes student and community members, will perform works by jazz tenor sax greats Oliver Nelson and Stanley Turrentine, and songwriter Vernon Duke. The performance will feature an original composition and arrangements by sophomore George Colakovic and freshman Desmond Risper. Both groups are under the direction of Judd Danby. Admission to the concert is free and it is open to the public.
