Mirasol Quartet Performing Wednesday Evening

Wabash College’s Visiting Artists Series presents the Mirasol Quartet at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Salter Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center.

Formed in the fall of 2013 at Texas Tech University, Mirasol Quartet members include James Barger on soprano saxophone, Andrew Reinhart on alto saxophone, Benjamin Still on tenor saxophone, and Ben Donnell on baritone saxophone. The group has gained national recognition at several chamber music competitions across the nation, and earned a Gold Medal at the 2015 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, held in South Bend, IN.

Wednesday’s program features an engaging mix of selections – from well-known composers, including arrangements of string quartets by Rachmaninoff and Dvo?ák – to contemporary titles, including William Pitts’ Turbo Scramjet.

The Visiting Artist Series is funded in part by the Indiana Arts Commission, Tippecanoe Arts Federation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Seating for Visiting Artists Series events is by general admission, though free tickets are required.
