Three Alumni Named Partners at Barnes & Thornburg

Barnes & Thornburg, Indiana’s largest law firm, recently elected Brian Burdick '91, Mark Dinsmore '82, and William Padgett '92 partners.

Burdick practices in the areas of government services and public finances. He serves as special counsel to commercial and investment banks, advising them on Indiana public-fund banking and investment pieces. A registered lobbyist, he also represents public and private clients before the Indiana General Assembly.

Mark Dinsmore practices in general litigation in state and federal district courts. Dinsmore has also practiced before an international arbitration tribunal to resolve a matter arising from the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

William Padgett is a member of the Litigation Department. His practice includes the defense of complex toxic tort, commercial dispute and products liability lawsuits brought against product manufacturers. He also represents corporations and individuals pursuing property and casualty insurance coverage claims, particularly in the environmental and toxic tort areas.

In addition, fellow Wabash alumnus, Damon Leichty '94 returned to Barnes & Thornburg’s South Bend Office. During his two-year absence, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert L. Miller Jr., Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. Leichty focuses on mediation, trial work and appeals.
