Canoe Outing Draws Area Freshmen to Campus

Nearly 20 incoming freshmen spent most of Friday at Crawfordsville. The group enjoyed a canoe trip, campus visit, lunch and getting to know each other, faculty and staff.

The freshmen were invited for a trip down Sugar Creek and a chance to meet other area students. Most were from the immediate Central Indiana area.

There were also a number of high school students joining the visit to tour and enjoy the day’s activities.

"This really is just a fun day and an opportunity for the Class of 2009 to get to know each other," Senior Assistant Director of Admissions Chip Timmons said. "We also had some high school students visiting and seeing the campus for the first time."

Freshmen will report to Wabash Aug. 20 for a week of orientation activities.

Current students, coaches and staff members joined a noontime luncheon behind Caleb Mills House.
