Shelbyville '09

A small but sturdy contingent of Wallies lent a hand to the Strand Theatre of Shelbyville, Inc., a nonprofit focused on enhancing the arts in Shelby County. The theatre is operational but still has a lot of work needed.

The volunteers, consisting of Phil Brown, '58, Jack Tandy, ’79, Curt Johnson, '94, Jason Pike '04 and his wife, Jodi Pike, cleaned out an office full of projector equipment, seats and audio equipment and transported it to an offsite storage facility.

The team also took the rare downtime at the theatre to mop the floors and do some general cleaning. When the day was done, all volunteers felt like they had made a significant contribution to the project.

The Strand Theatre staff took photos and posted a story on their website which you can see here.
