Golf Outing Benefits Scholarship Fund

Heavy rains the night before forced cart path only playing conditions for the annual Wabash Club of Chicago Golf Outing on Monday, August 8.  The soggy course at Willow Crest Golf Club in Oak Brook only worsened as more rain began to fall nearly halfway through the round and lightning strikes finally forced several of the players to finish early.

The weather, though, could not dampen the spirits of the alumni, family, and friends in attendance to support the club and its Scholarship Fund which receives all proceeds from the outing.  The Scholarship Fund provides needed financial support for Wabash students from the Chicagoland area.

The foursome of Ben Beringer '87, Bart Durham '87, Drew Durham, and Kurt Fess were one of the groups that finished the round and emerged victorious.

Special thanks to Eric Schoettle '93 and Greg Jania '93 for leading the organization of the outing once again and to the many hole sponsors from which the majority of the proceeds come.
