Seniors
Brian David,
Kenny Farris and
Kevin McCarthy, along with sophomore
Dalton Boyer, have been named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Men's All-Academic Cross Country Team.
The USTFCCCA honored a total of 141 student-athletes from 80 schools. Wabash was one of only six schools to have four or more representatives on the team, joining Calvin, St. Olaf, Centre, and Williams. Haverford placed five runners on the All-Academic squad.
McCarthy was one of ten top-20 finishers at the 2011 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship race to earn All-Academic honors.
Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or greater and place in the top-35 at the NCAA regional meet to qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country team.
"I'm really proud of our guys," head coach Roger Bush said. "This is my sixth year coaching at Wabash, and every year we've have every runner who has received all-region honors also earn a place on the All-Academic team. Brian and Kevin were all-region and all-academic selections last year. I'm pleased that the three seniors in particular have really developed over the last few years not only on the cross county course, but also in the classroom."
