Colorado 2012

W.A.B.A.S.H. Day 2012 was once again a huge success in Colorado. Great weather and a superb turnout highlighted our 8th annual event. For the 5th consecutive year, we aligned with the Jeffco Action Center in the west Denver suburb of Lakewood, CO.  The Action Center is a human services, non-profit organization serving Jefferson County since 1968. They provide immediate human needs and promote pathways to self-sufficiency for residents and the homeless.

This year our volunteers spent the day doing warehouse work for the Center.  We unloaded, sorted and stored food for their food bank.  We sorted and stored clothes for their clothing bank, and we boxed and organized other human needs supplies such as sheets, towels and coats.  Our volunteers were treated to a tour of The Action Center, and were informed of the immense services and numbers the Center provides for every day.  Wabash volunteers provided a combined total of 63 hours of service.

Our day concluded with a social gathering at a nearby pub in downtown Lakewood.
