On Sunday, September 16, the NCAWM spent the day working with Martha's Table to help provide meals to over 1,000 needy D.C. residents. Martha's Table's mission is to help at-risk less fortunate individuals in the communities surrounding Washington, D.C. to develop their living situation into a better one through volunteer programs. While the organization focuses on improving individuals' life situations for the long-term, it also provides emergency support, largely through its McKenna's Wagon food delivery program.
Wabash alums Gary James, Tommy Ball, Andre Adeyemi, Arun Muralidhar (pictured, with sons), Dennis Whigham (pictured, in Class of '66 hat), and Scott Medsker spent Saturday working at the organization's DC headquarters. The group spent the majority of its day preparing over 1000 meals that would be served that day across the District. The group also worked on cleaning out a recently-acquired garage that, upon purchase, was found to be infested. The group cleaned the garage, which has been repaired to prevent further infestation, so that it can be used by Martha's Table without health risk.
