Wabash Fraternities Earn National Honors

Wabash’s Theta Delta Chi, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Tau Kappa Epsilon picked up national honors during the summer months.

Theta Delt

Baumgardner, Theta Delt PresidentIan Baumgardner ’14 - During the weekend of August 7th - 10th members of Theta Delta Chi traveled en masse to Washington University in Seattle where the 166th annual convention was held. Representing the Upsilon Deuteron charge of Wabash College were two undergraduates, Ian Baumgardner '14 and Corey Egler '15, along with four alums, James Leuck '09, Kyle O'Keefe '08, Kristopher Klippel '03, and Nik Ivancevich '03. During the Grand Banquet the Upsilon Deuteron Charge was honored with two awards. The first award is the Loyalty Cup. This award recognizes the Charge with the highest number of donating alumni to total living alumni. This is an incredible feat as the Charge at Wabash has only been in existence for a mere 20 years making even the oldest alumni relatively young, still starting families, and paying off school loans.

The second award presented to Theta Delts from Wabash was the Victory Cup. The Victory Cup is presented to the top overall charge of Theta Delta Chi. This honor was attributed to the continued excellence that the members of the Upsilon Deuteron charge are known for: academics, philanthropy, campus involvement, and strong brotherhood. This marks the second time that the charge has brought home the Victory Cup.

Lambda Chi

Scott Eggers ’86 - “I'm proud to announce that Lambda Chi Alpha was recognized with three major awards at the Stead Leadership Conference in Memphis last month:  the Warren A. Cole Recruitment Award, The Alumni Affairs Award, and the Website Development Award.  I'm very proud of the manner in which they not only represent our fraternity but Wabash College.”
