Junior Kevin McCarthy was named the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Men's Great Lakes Region Runner of the Year. McCarthy earned the award after qualifying in three events for the 2011 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He will compete in 3000-meter steeplechase on Friday.

Clyde Morgan received the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region Men's Coach of the Year Award Wednesday evening. Morgan's Wabash team scored a record-setting 311.5 points to win the school's first-ever North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Track and Field title.

Kevin McCarthy made a new friend on Wednesday. Ohio Wesleyan University, the host school for this year's NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet, partnered with the nearby Columbus Zoo to bring animals to the reception prior to Wednesday evening's awards banquet.

Senior Wes Chamblee recovered from reconstructive knee surgery to participate in the 400-meter hurdles at the championship meet. His time of 53.86 placed him 14th overall in a field of 19.
