Polar Vortex Visits Wabash
With students on break, the Wabash campus got a visit from a Polar Express of sorts on January 5 as the polar vortex dipped into the Midwest and left nearly a foot of snow and subzero temperatures on Sunday through Tuesday. Offices were closed, but Campus Services didn't stay home, keeping roads and walks clear throughout the storm.
Even during the early snowfall and relatively warm temperatures in the 20s, I decided to stay in the car for some of the photos. Which proved a good idea for this one!

I walked out onto the Mall to get a photo of the Chapel but noticed my fine college camera was becoming uncovered (and potentially wet), so this is as far as I got.

This one only counts as a 'Wabash photo' because I live in the house once owned by the late Professor Ted Bedrick H’52. That's his porch (and porch light) the night of the storm.
Campus remained closed on Monday and Tuesday thanks to temperatures near -20, wind chills as low as -40, and lots of drifting snow.
The greenhouse kept plants warm on Tuesday morning.
