Speaking to the College’s students and professors at Tuesday night’s Senior Capstone Research Symposium, former psychology major Stephen Prunier ’09 said that his Wabash education gave him an edge over most of his classmates in graduate school: 'Wabash closes the gap between undergrad and grad school.'

‘The Wabash classroom prepared me for the small class sizes, to be active in the classroom, to be self-motivated, to ask questions,’ Prunier said. ‘I learned to work hard here, and the liberal arts background and the different subjects I learned to study really helps when I’m studying something like social psychology.’

‘And Wabash shaped the way I teach others,' said Prunier, currently earning his doctorate at the University of Toledo studying individual differences in cognition and decision making. 'I want my students to feel like they can talk to me, not only about classwork, but about their academic goals, their lives. My professors here were always willing to take time to talk with me, to listen to me.’

‘I’ve been waiting a long time for a moment like this,” Professor Preston Bost, welcoming one of his own former students, Stephen Prunier, to present the keynote talk, ‘Memory Can Change the Shape of a Room: Reflections on Wabash and My Journey into the Cognitive Sciences.’
