NBA (MOnday, Wednesday, Friday, 12-1pm) Chadwick/Knowling
Tobey Herzog - Informal meetings of the Noon Ball Association. Commissioner Tobey Herzog welcomes anyone to come out for camaraderie and competition with faculty and staff. We play informal games in either Chadwick or Knowling depending on campus events. Come on out!
Tabata strength Training (Wednesday & Friday, 6:00 TO 6:30 A.M.) AEROBICS ROOM
Joy Harlos— Tabata is an interval workout that is designed around performing various exercises at maximum effort for 20 seconds followed by a 10 second rest. A person can do anything for 20 seconds, right? The movements can be cardio or strength based and are typically very basic, including things like squats, lunges, arm work with dumbbells, etc. It is great for any fitness level, although those who are just getting started will want to take it easy and work into full intensity over time. The biggest perk is that it delivers great benefits in a short period of time. Each class is only 30 minutes and attending regularly twice a week DOES produce results.
Yoga (Monday & Wednesday, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.) Aerobics Room
Laura Connors — (Hatha Yoga) End your work day with a gentle, yet invigorating yoga practice integrating a combination of standing, seated, supine, twisting, balancing and supported inversion postures. Suitable for beginners and experienced yoga students, these classes emphasize the fundamentals of Hatha yoga.
Zumba (Tuesday & Thursday, 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.) Aerobics room
Joy Harlos — Zumba is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music and contagious steps to form a “fitness-party” that is downright addictive. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students. Expect no hand weights or floor mats, just lots of great music and movement at your own pace. Many people have stated that Zumba got them off the couch and kept them off simply because it is so much fun that you want to go back for more. Before you know it, you’re getting fit and your energy levels are soaring!
This & That Fitness (Monday-wednesday-thursday, 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.) Aerobics room
Stacy Sommer — This class focuses primarily on resistance training for not only healthy toned muscles, but strong bones as well. The workouts vary with each class as well as the equipment used. Stretching, weight training, pilates, core boarding, benching, fitness balls, fitness bands, relaxing methods.
Deep Water Aerobics (monday, wednesday, & Friday, 6:30 a.m.) Class of 1950 natatorium
The Deep Water Aerobics class is conducted in the deep end of the pool. Participants wear a flotation belt that keeps the body vertical in the water. The class is made up of 30 minutes of constant movement in the water that is aerobic which includes stretching the arms and legs. The last 15 minutes includes pool side stretches and arm exercises with water bar bells.
