Fiske Guide Cites Wabash as a Top College

Wabash College is listed in the 2020 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges as one of the top colleges and universities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Now in its 36th year, the Fiske Guide uses the unique approach of including quotes from current students and supplemental information to deliver an “insider’s view” to college-bound students and their parents.

Rogge Hall, as photographed by Jeremy Bitterman/Shepley Bullfinch.Of the Wabash experience, the Fiske Guide writes, “The Wabash educational program has certainly proved itself over the years. This small college has amassed an impressive list of alumni: executives of major corporations, doctors, lawyers, and a large number of Ph.D.’s. Many (students) are happy with the college’s intensive, rigorous programs and expanding opportunities for interdisciplinary study and hands-on experiences.”

The guide spotlighted the $24 million student housing expansion, the Liberal Arts Plus initiatives, and outstanding academic programs, including biology, history, mathematics, political science, psychology, religion, rhetoric, and theater.

The Fiske Guide profiles more than 300 of the nation’s best colleges and universities, offering academic, social, and quality-of-life ratings for each school. Edited by Edward B. Fiske, former education editor for the New York Times, the guide is based on academic ratings, price category, quality of student life on campus, and additional factors.
