Guerrilla Girls Coming to Wabash for a Performance

Wabash College’s Visiting Artists Series will present The Guerrilla Girls at 8 p.m., Monday, November 8, in Ball Theater in the Fine Arts Center. Some content of their performance are for mature audiences.

Co-sponsored by the McGregor Visiting Artist/Scholar Fund, The Guerrilla Girls have been stirring up audiences with presentations and workshops in full jungle drag. They have appeared at schools, museums and organizations of all types, in almost every state in the U.S. and on almost every continent.

The performance lasts about an hour and a half, followed by a question period. The Guerrilla Girls take the audience through how they came up with some of their more than 90 posters, books (Confessions of the Guerrilla Girls and The Guerrilla Girls Bedside Companion to the History of Western Art) and actions about discrimination in art, film, politics, etc.

In their performances for 2004-05, they will also be performing skits with the audience and sharing excerpts from their new book entitled, Bitches, Bimbos and Ballbreakers: The Guerrilla Girls Illustrated Guide to Female Stereotypes.
