Junior Sam Smith has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware.
Smith was selected as a member of the special teams group after recording his third blocked kick of the season in Saturday's game against Oberlin, a 42-21 victory by Wabash. Smith's three blocked kicks tie for fourth on the Little Giants' single-season record list. Dustin Deno made three blocked kicks in 2004, two years after tying the single season record with four blocks in 2002 and repeating the same total in 2003. Eric Schoettle ’93 set the original record with four blocked kicks in 1989.
Wabash has recorded eight blocked kicks this season, tying the single-season record set by the Little Giants in 2003.
