Madison, Wi. 2012

Five Wabash alumni in Madison, Wisconsin volunteered at Second Harvest Foodbank for Wabash Day 2012. Matt Ripley (’06), Michael Wartman (’09), Brett Gann (’07), Steve Maynard (’11), and Nick Marzotto (’11) helped sort a variety of produce for the hungry in the Madison area.

Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in southwestern Wisconsin through community partnerships, serving nearly 141,000 people annually, including 43 percent who are children. Through food and financial donations and volunteer support, Second Harvest acquires and distributes food to 300 partner programs in 16 counties. From July 1, 2011 –June 30, 2012, Second Harvest distributed 9.8 million pounds of food. It is one of 200 members of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.
