CareerFest Week Offers Students Opportunity

The Schroeder Center for Career Development has been very active this week, hosting a wide range of events for its CareerFest.

CareerFest is a series of events that touches upon topics related to the workplace, success, and values.

It started Monday afternoon on campus with an information session about careers and internships at Target’s Distribution Center. A private pilot training class callout also took place that afternoon, and Career Services hosted a euchre tournament in the evening.

Tuesday’s set of activities included a workshop titled “StrengthsFest: Toward Pursuit of Your Calling” and a three-on-three basketball tournament. The “StrengthsFest” workshop centered on defining what a calling is. Career Service members helped the workshop’s attendees find and evaluate their strengths.

On Wednesday, Career Services will hosted an information session about the Lilly Business Initiative, , and a screening of an episode of Mad Men from 8:30-10:00 p.m. in Trippet 123. The Lilly Business Initiative funds students for internships they carry out during the summer. The Mad Men screening will follow with a discussion about workplace ethics.

CareerFest will conclude on Thursday with an interview competition and networking dinner. The interview competition will take place from 12:15-1:00 p.m. in Goodrich 104. The networking dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. in Detchon International Hall. Students will have the opportunity to meet with select recruiters and Wabash alumni at the dinner.
