They are volunteers who cook food and give it away, provide a ride into town, or give you a warm, dry place to stay for the night.' - Jim Dashiell '68. Dashiell hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2012 and published a book about his experiences in 2016.

Steve Woods '93, presented on his first season as an NFL official, saying, 'At some moment, it's still just a football game...no difference from Pop Warner to the NFL.'

'I have to concentrate for seven seconds, 200 times,' Woods says. 'That doesn't sound like much, but I've found the mental exhaustion is far greater than in the Big Ten. There is a breakneck pace to the NFL season.'

Garrard McClendon ’88 began his presentation recalling days at Wabash and teachers like Horace Turner, Rob Johnson, and the men of the Malcolm X Institute who supported and befriended him. He also thanked Professor Emeritus Tobey Herzog, who was in the room for the presentation: 'You did so much for us.'

McClendon's presentation changed tone when he began to talk about his documentary, 'Forgiving Cain,' a film he felt compelled to make after the murder of his parents and his decision to forgive the murderers: 'I believe that murders can end in the United States.'
