The Grunge Canyon

a large canyon with trees and rocks

Wabash Director of Alumni Affairs Tom Runge ’71 hiked the Grand Canyon last November with his son, Chris, in a group led by Dudley Burgess ’64, who brought along his sons for an adventure that has become a Burgess family tradition. Tom tells the story in the Spring 2010 issue of Wabash Magazine, but took so many gorgeous photos that we couldn't use them all. So we're displaying a few more here.    Photo by Tom Runge

Dudley Burgess's son, Mark, brought with him his Native American flute. Tom writes: "A gifted musician, Mark not only plays beautifully, but has an ear for finding just the right spots to play so that we could hear music echoing off the Canyon walls."
