SPA 403 Spanish Studies in Spanish American Literary Genres
This course examines a cultural theme or the development of a specific
literary genre: novel, poetry, drama, or essay. Students read and analyze

genres and historical, political, and social realities. Students will
develop the analytical tools and language specific to the interpretation
of a particular genre and demonstrate those skills in interpretative
essays and class discussion. One-half or one course credit. Taught in the
spring semester in alternate years.
