Director of Strength and Conditioning

Wabash College invites applications for the position of Director of Strength and Conditioning, responsible for leading a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for a highly competitive NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics program with more than 400 scholar-athletes. A nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification (e.g., CSCS), CPR/AED certification, and bachelor’s degree is required.

Duties include, but are not limited to: design and implement effective, sport-specific trainings for 13 Division III programs; collaborate with coaches and staff to achieve optimal sport performance outcomes; educate and consult with the entire campus community on proper use and techniques related to weight equipment and fitness training, including individualized training plans as part of employee wellness; supervision and organization of all facets of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program, including facilities, schedules, equipment, and/or inventory; frequent dialogue with sports medicine and medical personnel that prioritizes the health and safety of scholar-athletes; maintain continuing education and best practices in the field.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation, the selected candidate will be committed to a holistic educational experience for Wabash students. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate experience in fostering an environment of inclusion and expect to contribute to campus-wide programming that upholds a strong commitment to belonging and community. Adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA Division III policies and procedures is required.The position is a 10-month appointment with benefits.
