Ryan Short was named a First Team All-American in 2002 |
On Sunday, January 19, the team will honor the men who made the season so memorable with a Football Feast. The awards banquet is set for 4:00 p.m. in the Allen Center and is open to Wabash alumni and friends of the football program.
Tickets for the banquet are $20—half of which will help offset the team's European Immersion Learning Trip this summer. For more information, contact Debbie Starnes in the Wabash College Athletic Department at (765) 361-6220.
Wabash finished the 2002 season with a 12-1 record, going 10-0 in the regular season for only the second time in school history. Along the way, the Little Giants defeated arch rival DePauw in the 109th Monon Bell Classic, and beat North Coast Athletic Conference rival Wittenberg to win the NCAC Championship.
Wabash advanced to the national quarterfinals of the Division III football tournament before losing to eventual national champion Mount Union College.
Wabash shattered virtually every offensive record in the books, and three Little Giants—Ryan Short, Nathan Boulais, and Jake Knott—were honored on various All-American teams.
The Little Giants will travel to Europe this summer on an educational Immersion Learning Trip, during which they'll tour several European countries.
