Alumni and Parent Involvement Makes an Impact on the Professional Development of Wabash Students
Externships
Wabash students have diverse and varied career interests, and are actively seeking opportunities to gain firsthand experience on-the-job. Externships are short, unpaid “career test drives” that allow students to explore an area of interest through intensive job shadowing. The goal of these experiences is that upon completion, a student should have a clearer idea whether they intend to pursue further experience in that particular field, or determine that they need to explore other options.
Wabash-Funded Internship Programs
Wabash College through a grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc., along with generous support from alumni donations to the Small Business Internship Fund, will significantly underwrite the cost of fifty-five (55) student internships for summer 2015. The goals of the Internship Programs are to allow Wabash students the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience through working on a meaningful project(s) for a host organization; while providing an incentive for host organizations to consider Wabash students for internships at a significantly reduced cost to the organization.
