Wabash Trustee Named President & CEO of West Bank Parent Company

Wabash alumnus and trustee Thomas E. Stanberry ’76 has been elected chairman, president, and chief executive officer of West Bancorporation, Inc. Stanberry will also have a seat on the board of directors of the company, and on the board of West Bank.

West Bancorporation, Inc. (Nasdaq: WTBA) is the parent company of the West Des Moines State Bank (West Bank).

He replaces Davd Miller, who retired.

Stanberry, 48, had spent 14 years with U.S. Bancorp Jaffray in a variety of capacities, currently as a managing director and senior investment banker in its Fixed Income Capital Markets Division.

Stanberry is a graduate of Wabash College and the Drake University School of Law. He previously had been a partner in the Des Moines law firm of Ahlers and Cooney, P.C.

In addition to serving Wabash College on its Board of Trustees, Stanberry also serves on the board of directors of the Minneapolis Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Downtown Minneapolis YMCA, which he chairs.

Stanberry is a member of the budget and finance and investment policy committees of the Wabash Board of Trustees. While an undergraduate at Wabash, he majored in political science, served as editor of The Bachelor, and was an Honor Scholar. He also was a member of Delta Tau Delta, Student Senate, Sphinx Club, and the track team.

Stanberry's election as chairman, president, and CEO of West Bancorporation, Inc. is effective March 1, 2003.
