The exhibit encompasses a broad range of his art, including significant ceramic, mixed media, wood, and painted wood constructions, along with his recent wall-relief constructions using found objects and photographs. A blossom of color, energy and motion, "like endlessly proliferating forces of cosmic energy," says the New York Times. The dances of Nai-Ni Chen fuse the dynamic freedom of American modern dance with the grace and splendor of Asian art. The Company's productions take the audience beyond cultural boundaries to where tradition meets innovation and freedom arises from discipline. Choreographer/Dancer Nai-Ni Chen is an artist whose work defies categorization, as she is continually working on new ideas from influences around the world. Her mesmerizing and dramatic contemporary choreography has gained increasing recognition among domestic and international presenters and festivals. Recently, the Company was honored by a distinctive grant award from both the President's Committee on Arts and Humanities and the Department of State to represent the United States in a seven-city tour arranged by the Tamaulipas International Arts Festival in Mexico.

The only time the International Congress of Organists was held in the United States (Philadelphia 1977), a young organist from New York City was awarded the First Prize in Organ Performance by a panel of distinguished international judges. The next day, another panel of distinguished judges from around the world, again operating in the blind, awarded the First Prize in Organ Improvisation--and the winner was the same young American organist. David Hurd, then Music Director at the Church of the Intercession (Episcopal) in Harlem, within the space of a couple of days had walked away with the two most prestigious organ prizes in the world at the time. Two decades later David Hurd is widely recognized as one of the foremost church musicians and concert organists in the country, with a long list of awards, prizes, honors and achievements to his credit. He studied both at the Preparatory Division of the Juilliard School and at Manhattan's High School of Music and Art. Later he attended Oberlin College in Ohio, graduating with a music degree in 1971, and went on for further study at the University of North Carolina and, back in New York, at the Manhattan School of Music. His organ teachers have included Bronson Ragan, Garth Peacock, Arthur Poister, and Rudolph Kremer. Since 1976, David Hurd has worked at The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church in New York City, first as Director of Chapel Music and later also as Professor of Church Music and Organist.

Chicago Mass Choir is one of the nation's premier gospel choirs. Organized over twenty years ago, the Chicago Mass Choir has its roots in the Ecclesiastes Community Choir founded by James C. Chambers, musical director at Haven of Rest M.B. Church. Since their first recording in 1990, the internationally acclaimed Chicago Mass Choir has grown into one of the strongest and most exciting choirs on the gospel scene. They have been at the top of Billboard’s charts, won numerous awards, and have been nominated for multiple Stellar Awards and Grammy Awards with their gimmick-free, straight ahead approach to gospel music. In 1994, Dr. Feranda Williamson took the reins and the choir continues under her leadership. A renowned soloist in her own right, Dr. Williamson also serves as Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Capella University.
