Wabash Wrestlers Get It Done in the Classroom and on the Mats

The Wabash College wrestling team had the fifth highest cumulative grade point average and three individual members were named Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Little Giants senior wrestlers Joe Scanlon of Lafayette and Logan Kuhne of Fort Wayne, along with sophomore All-American 174-pounder Chris Healy of Jasper were named Scholar All-Americans by the NWCA.

Wrestlers must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 to be nominated for the award. Kuhne and Scanlon both received the award last season. Healy earned the award for the first time.

Healy finished eighth at 174 pounds to earn All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships earlier this month.

The Wabash team finished fifth in the national GPA rankings for the second time in four years. The Little Giants were fifth nationally in 1999 in the 10-man team GPA championship. Wabash won the team GPA championship in 1998 and 2000.
