The Wabash College’s Visiting Artist Series presents WindSync Quintet in concert at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, in the Fine Art Center’s Salter Hall.
The evening’s program will feature an engaging mix of selections from well-known composers, including arrangements of Scherzo from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” selections from “Romeo and Juliet Suite No. 2,” along with contemporary pieces from Radiohead and selections from West Side Story.
Hailed by the Houston Chronicle as “revolutionary chamber musicians,” WindSync is internationally recognized for dramatic and engaging interpretations of classical music. The young, adventurous group plays exclusively from memory, including elements of staging and choreography, and focuses on building a connection with audiences through dynamic concert programming and charismatic stage presence. The quintet was awarded the Gold Medal at the 2016 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, IN.
The Visiting Artist Series is funded in part by the Indiana Arts Commission, Tippecanoe Arts Federation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
