Chase, Grimmer, Medsker Named Class Agents

Matthew “Kip” Chase, Karl M. Grimmer, Jr., and R. Scott Medsker have named Class Agents for the 2003 Wabash College graduating class.

"Every candidate was absolutely outstanding," said Director of Alumni Affairs Tom Runge ’71, "making the selection process extremely difficult. The Class of 2003 will be well served!"

A Dean’s List student and a history major, Kip Chase is head resident advisor for independent housing and student relations on campus. He is president of the College Republicans and a member of the Pre-Law Society. He is also a member of the Sons of Wabash, a campus organization that promotes student-alumni relations at Wabash. Chase, a varsity letter winner for the basketball team at Wabash, has also served as coach for the Tuttle Middle School sixth grade basketball team and served as chairman of the Wabash College’s Community Service Day held last fall.

A biology major, Karl Grimmer is a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and a member of the Sons of Wabash, a campus organization that promotes student-alumni relations at Wabash. He served as treasurer for the Wabash Biology Society his junior year and was a faculty recommended biology tutor his senior year. A member of the varsity swim team, he was the recipient of the Some Little Giant Award his sophomore year. Grimmer was named a National Student-Athlete Day Award winner in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Grimmer is a 1999 graduate of Griffith High School.

A Dean’s List student and a political science and speech double major, Scott Medsker is president of the Sphinx Club, a spirit organization. Medsker is president of Pi Sigma Alpha honorary society and is past president of Wabash College’s InterFraternity Council. He performed with the Wabash Glee Club where he served as secretary. A member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, he has served as president of their Alpha-Pi chapter. In the summer of 2002 Medsker served as an intern in the office in the public affairs in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC.

The class agent system, initiated in 1955, was designed to generate participation in alumni organizations. Class agents also assist in generating new admissions, communicating directly with the college and classmates and encouraging interest in fundraising activities.
