When it comes to ranking the best institutions nationally for academics, affordability, and career prospects, few fare better than Wabash College.
The 185-year-old liberal arts college was lauded by the Princeton Review in its annual college guide, “Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck,” ranking as the number one-ranked school in America for Best Alumni Network and third nationally for Top Internship Opportunities. Further, Wabash ranked No. 38 nationally among the Top 50 Colleges That Pay You Back.
“Wabash College offers its graduates a unique opportunity,” said Steven L. Jones, Dean for Professional Development. “The concern our alumni have for students is made evident every day. They open doors so students can explore possibilities for their life after Wabash. This is a special place and our alumni thrive on being advocates for current students.”
Inclusion in this publication means that Wabash ranks well inside the top 10 percent of 2,500 U.S.-based four-year colleges. Wabash received an overall academic rating of 94 with scores of 98 in the two categories associated with teaching faculty availability and engagement, and a 91 in financial aid.
"Our students make an impact with the non-profit, government, and corporate entities where they intern each summer,” said Jacob S. Pactor, Director of the Schroeder Center for Career Development. “The Professional Development staff has forged partnerships with leading companies, start-ups, and non-profits to provide Wabash students with internship opportunities that allow them to put their liberal arts degree to work. Our students tell us their internships provide them the clarity and confidence to build their own professional narratives.”
The Princeton Review chose schools based on return on investment ratings it tallied for 650 schools last year. The ratings weighted 40 data points that covered everything from academics, cost, and financial aid to graduation rates, student debt, and alumni salaries, and job satisfaction. The Princeton Review editors gathered data from the company's surveys of administrators and students in 2015-16 and from PayScale.com's surveys of school alumni conducted through April 2016.
