World Musical Instruments: Design and Construction on Display at Wabash College

Crawfordsville, IN —The Wabash College World Music course, Instruments and Cultures, culminates with the final course project of designing and building of musical instruments from different cultures. These instruments and information pertinent to their national or cultural origin, history, and construction are currently on display through Friday, May 9 in the Eiteljorg display case in the lobby of Ball Theater in the Fine Arts Center on the Wabash College campus.

This semester, through the branch of ethnomusicology referred to as organology, the students who enrolled in this world music course were inspired to design, create, and reinterpret an array of musical instruments from different cultural and artistic traditions.
