Over the last year, alumni and friends have added to the momentum of the Giant Steps Campaign and impacted the lives of our faculty and students with their generous gifts. You can take your own Giant Step when you make a gift to support Wabash students this holiday season.

WABASH ADVANCEMENT HOURS
The Wabash Advancement Office WILL BE OPEN Tuesday, December 29 thru Thursday, December 31 from 8:00am to 4:30pm EST.
RECURRING GIFTS ARE BUDGET FRIENDLY
Take your own Giant Step for Wabash students by making a sustaining gift. Setting up monthly, quarterly, or even annual recurring gifts makes it easy and budget-friendly to support Wabash College.
MULTIPLY YOUR GIFT
Take just a few minutes to double or even triple the impact of your gift. Visit our Matching Gift database to find out if your company will match your gift to Wabash. Some will even match gifts by retirees, spouses, or partners of employees. What’s even better is that most companies with these programs will match donations made at any point during the last year!
USING YOUR TRADITIONAL IRA FOR GIVING
If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can make a gift using a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA. Two new laws took effect this year that may impact your decision to give through a QCD. The SECURE Act adjusted the minimum age for taking a required minimum distribution (RMD) from 70 ½ to 72, and the CARES Act waived the RMD altogether for 2020. These changes do not affect your ability to make a tax-advantaged QCD starting at age 70 ½. Please consult your tax adviser about these changes and their impact on your giving strategy.
For more information, click on Charitable IRA FAQ’s and if you want to make a QCD gift, please use our IRA Gift Instructions.
INDIANA RESIDENTS: TAKE ADVANTAGE OF STATE TAX CREDITS WHEN GIVING TO WABASH
If you file an Indiana income tax return, the state will credit up to 50% of your gift to Wabash against your state income taxes. Individual filers receive $100 credit for the first $200 contributed to Wabash, while joint filers receive $200 credit for the first $400 contributed to the College.
USE AMAZON SMILE WHEN SHOPPING ONLINE
If you are buying gifts online this holiday season, think about using Amazon Smile—which donates 0.5% of eligible purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. You can select Wabash for your charity, and although this will not provide you with any personal giving credit, you can know that you are making an impact even while you shop.
