Wabash Football Team Picked at the Top of the NCAC Rankings

The 2003 Wabash College football squad was picked to finish among the leaders at the annual North Coast Athletic Conference Football Media Day, held Wednesday, August 6 in Granville, Ohio. The Little Giants were the top pick in the media poll and were selected second in a poll of the league's coaches.

Wabash received 228 points and eight first place votes from the media to top the nine-team list. Only eight points separated Wabash from second-place Wittenberg (223 points, eight first place votes) and third-place Wooster (220 points, eight first place votes).

Wabash had four of the ten first place votes in the coaches' poll, finishing with 89 points. Wooster led the coaches' ballots with 91 points. Wittenberg was third with 87 points. Wittenberg and Wooster split the remaining six first place votes.

Wabash, the defending NCAC champion, opens the 2003 season on Saturday, September at Kalamazoo. The first conference matchup will come on the road on October 4 when the Little Giants travel the Meadville, Pennsylvania to face Allegheny College.
