Chris Merrill ’23 comes from Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Indiana. He is majoring in PPE. Merrill finished with a 4-0 record in the Adrian Wrestling Invitational.
Isaiah McWilliams ’22 comes from Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana. He is majoring in Hispanic
studies and recorded pins in two matches in the Mid-States Invitational.
Spencer Phillips ’25 went to school at McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, Indiana. He is pursuing engineering. He is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity
Gavinn Alstott ’25 went to Floyd Central High School in Corydon, Indiana. He is majoring in political science.
Kyle Hatch ’22 went to Warsaw High School in Pierceton, Indiana. He is majoring in religion. Hatch was named an All-American from the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) last year.

Merrill: Dazed & Confused
McWilliams: Remember the Titans
Phillips: Gladiator
Alstott: Moneyball
Hatch: The Guardian
What goals do you have for yourself/the team this year?
Merrill: Personally become an All-American and win a national title as a team
McWilliams: I want for our team to be successful on and off the mat. Also I want to see my brothers get better with every week!
Phillips: Get stronger/ over-perform at the NCAA national tournament.
Alstott: National Champions
Hatch: We want to win Nationals as a team, and I want to win Nationals as an Individual.
What is the best advice that has been given to you?
Merrill: Why not me?
McWilliams: If a negative mindset attracts negativity just think what a positive mindset will do!
Phillips: Your mind tends to be done before your body.
Alstott: Believe in your journey.
Hatch: When you get knocked down, don't stay down; get back up again. Nothing good is going to happen as long as you're down on yourself.
What is your favorite Holiday tradition?
Merrill: All the food and loved ones
McWilliams: My favorite Holiday tradition is Thanksgiving because everyone in the family comes together to enjoy company and a meal!
Phillips: Christmas morning.
Alstott: Opening presents with family Christmas morning
Hatch: My favorite holiday tradition is playing Bingo with my family on Christmas Eve.
