The Little Giant swimming and diving team took second at the Wabash Invitational on Saturday. The annual event at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis saw 11 teams participate this year.

Freshman Craig Haupert (Cedar Lake, IN/Lowell) captured first place in the 100-yard backstroke. Haupert finished with a time of 1:00.87 in the 39-man field. Haupert also took fifth place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.36.

Nick Collins (Michigantown, IN/Clinton Central) took third place in the 400-yard individual medley, finishing in 4:27.81. R.J. Morgan (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) finished third in the 100-yard backstroke (55.30), and followed that with a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:01.08). Gary Mineart (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) added fourth-place points in the 1650 freestyle, finishing in 17:27.12.

Haupert, Brett Findley (Bargersville, IN/Franklin Community), Dean Fox (Aurora, IN/South Dearborn), and Ben Long (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) finished the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200 free relay. The four-man team finished in 1:30.56.
