Family Day at Wabash College Scheduled for November 8

Crawfordsville, IN — Wabash College will honor the families of Wabash students when it celebrates Family Day on Saturday, November 8.

The agenda for the day includes:

9 a.m.-12 noon Open reception for parents and families of Wabash students in the Caleb Mills House. Food and refreshments will be provided.

10-10:45 a.m. Information session titled “Less of Me, More of Them: Designing a Student-Centered Psychology Course” by assistant professor of psychology Preston Bost in Detchon Center, room 112. This talk will describe the psychology department’s program—guided by student feedback and the principles of effective teaching and learning—to transform one of the College’s largest lecture courses, Introductory Psychology, into an active learning environment.

10 and 11 a.m. Campus Tours. Tours will be led by the Sons of Wabash and will depart from the Caleb Mills House

11-11:45 a.m. Information session on the Off-Campus Studies Program by David Clapp in Detchon Center, room 111. Find out how many students study off-campus, what the rules are for who can go, where they go, and then hear first hand experience from current Wabash students who studied off campus.

1 p.m. Football Game—Wabash Little Giants vs. Hiram College in Byron P. Hollett Little Giant Stadium. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and can be purchased at the gate.

8 p.m. Family Day Concert featuring the music department at Wabash College. Salter Hall, Fine Arts Center. Free and open to the public.
