Three Little Giants Earn Soccer All-Conference Honors

Wabash College soccer players Jeff Diebel (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead), Tom Reifenberg (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger), and Colin Smith (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) have been named to the 2003 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Team.

Diebel and Reifenberg were Second Team All-Conference selections, while Smith earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.

Diebel led the Little Giants in scoring, tallying 15 points on seven goals and one assist. The sophomore forward finished the year with 24 shots on goal in 17 games to pace Wabash.

 

 

 

 

Reifenberg earned Second Team honors for the second consecutive season. The Wabash junior co-captain had six assists in 18 games to lead the team. He finished fifth in points on the team in six points.

 

 

 

 

Smith was named to the Honorable Mention All-Conference team after finishing second on the Wabash team in scoring with 13 points. He had five goals and three assists, including a team-best three game-winning goals. Smith was also a junior co-captain for the team this season.

Wabash finished seventh in the final conference standings with a 3-5-1 NCAC record. The Little Giants were 8-9-1 overall.
