The Wabash College Chamber Orchestra will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., on Sunday, April 30, in Salter Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center.
Under the direction of Alfred Abel, the concert opens with Beethoven’s Leonore Overture #3, then moves to Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto #2 in D Minor, before closing with Brahms’ Symphony #3.
The Chamber Orchestra draws its members not only from the Wabash student body, but also from musicians on the faculty and staff, along with professional and amateur musicians from the surrounding community. Maestro Abel’s young son will play the violin solo in the Wieniawski Concerto.
This Music Department concert is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend this audience-friendly introduction to wonderful classical music.
