Alumni and friends were welcomed home as Wabash College celebrated Homecoming.
The weekend’s events began with Chapel Sing on Thursday. Members of the Class of 2027 participated in a time-honored rite of passage as they tested their memory singing “Old Wabash,” arguably the longest fight song in the nation. Mastery was rewarded by the Sphinx Club with a red W, painted “in flashing glory” on participants’ white shirts.
The Sigma Chi pledge class captured the competition.
Theta Delta Chi hosted a celebration and ribbon-cutting Saturday morning.
The annual Homecoming Alumni Chapel was a success as lots of family and friends packed Pioneer Chapel. Celebrated in the spirit of Barney Hollett ’36, Alumni Chapel represents the general meeting of the National Association of Wabash Men. Several were honored for their contributions to the College and their communities.
Alumni awards presented include:
Alumni, parents, and friends enjoyed a tailgate-inspired menu at the Homecoming Luncheon. Wally was also present for photographs.
The Little Giant football team honored its seniors ahead of the winning 59-6 game against Oberlin College. At halftime, the 2022-2023 wrestling team was also honored for a successful season.
To wrap up the day’s festivities, the Wabash Glee Club hosted a Homecoming Concert in Salter Hall.
