Expert on Belonging to Speak at Wabash

Dr. Terrell Strayhorn, a leading expert on student belonging in higher education, will speak at Wabash College on Monday, February 17 as part of the President’s Distinguished Speaker Series.

Dr. Strayhorn will give his remarks—titled "The Belonging Imperative: Creating Conditions for Connection, Community & Success"—in Salter Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center at 8:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Strayhorn is President and CEO of Do Good Work Consulting Group and is an internationally recognized student success scholar. He is author of 12 books and over 200+ book chapters and journal articles and has given invited keynotes and lectures at more than 2,000+ universities, schools, companies, and conferences.

Dr. Strayhorn maintains an active and highly visible research agenda focusing on major policy issues in education, including student access and achievement, learning and development, and belonging. His most popular book, College Students’ Sense of Belonging: A Key to Educational Success, is now in a second edition. His scholarship has informed the development of effective campus/school climate interventions, campus-wide community initiatives, and creation of new educational policies and procedures for fostering belonging.
