Tennis Team Opens Season against Kenyon, Chicago

The Wabash College tennis season got underway on Saturday morning with the Little Giants facing two tough opponents in Kenyon College and the University of Chicago. Wabash dropped a 6-1 decision to the Kenyon Lords and suffered a 5-2 loss to Chicago in the afternoon.

The Little Giants took the doubles’ point in both matches. Seniors Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) and Constantine Alexander (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) were 8-4 winners at number one doubles against Kenyon, and captured an 8-2 victory over Chicago. Freshmen Adam Van Zee (Logansport, IN/Logansport) and Adrian Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) were also doubles winners. The two paired for an 8-5 victory at number three doubles against Kenyon and an 8-0 sweep of Chicago.

Alexander was the only singles victor for Wabash for the day. He won 6-2, 6-0 over Jeff An of Chicago in the afternoon match.
