Healy Leads Wabash to Tenth-Place Finish at Wheaton

Junior wrestler Chris Healy (Jasper, IN/Jasper) was one of three Wabash grapplers to finish in the top eight at the 2003 Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational over the weekend, helping the Little Giants to a tenth-place finish out of 26 teams in the overall standings.

Healy scored three early wins at 174 pounds, including two pins, to advance to the championship match against Ryan Aldrich of North Central College. The two battled throughout the entire bout until Aldrich came away with an 8-7 victory in the end.

Freshman Will Clarke (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) took sixth place at 197 pounds. Clarke opened the tournament with a 7-4 loss on Friday, but bounced back with three consecutive wins to move into the semi-finals. He lost to the number two seed, Case Western Reserve's Josh Schmidt before losing a tight 4-2 contest in the finals to fourth seed Paul Manning of Concordia University.

Sophomore Kevin Meyer (Columbus, IN/Columbus) was eighth at 165 pounds with a record of 3-3.
