Wabash got scoring efforts in four events, leading to a 15th place finish out of 22 teams at the 2004 Tiger Indoor Invitational, held Saturday afternoon at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
Senior runner Dan Ruge (Chesterton, IN/Chesterton) was the top finisher for the Little Giants. He picked up a third place finish in the 800-meter run, finishing behind two runners from NAIA's Marian College after running a 1:59.32. Teammates John DiCicco (FR/Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) and Peter Fenimore (SO/Bexley, OH/Bexley) finish seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 1000-meter run. DiCicco recorded a time of 2:46.58, while Fenimore was just a tick behind at 2:46.80.
Freshman Dennis Frazee (Griffith, IN/Calumet) took fifth place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:39.50.
The 4 X 200 relay team of Chris Morris (SR/Zionsville, IN/Zionsville), Nathan Bates (FR/Ossian, IN/Norwell), Josh Jones (FR/North Richland Hills, TX/Nolan Catholic), and Zach Smith (FR/Newburgh, IN/Castle) continued to turn impressive times. The quartet took a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:34.68.
