Little Giants Win Third In A Row With Sweep of Manchester

The Wabash tennis team won its third consecutive match on Thursday evening with a 7-0 sweep of Manchester College at the Collett Tennis Center.

The Little Giants opened with three victories in doubles play. The number one doubles team of seniors Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) and Constantine Alexander (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) took an 8-0 victory in their match, as did the number two doubles team of Nathan Cain (JR/Columbus, IN/Columbus North) and Cameron Starnes (SR/Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville). Freshmen Adam Van Zee (Logansport, IN/Logansport) and Adrian Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) were 8-1 winners at third doubles.

Lynch took a 6-2, 6-0 victory at number one singles. Alexander picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at number two singles. Adrian Starnes secured the victory for the Little Giants with a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles. Cain (6-3, 6-3 at number four singles), Cameron Starnes (6-0, 6-0 at number five singles), and Van Zee (6-0, 6-0 at number six singles) were also winners.

Wabash moves to 3-2 with the win. The Little Giants will travel to Wooster, Ohio on Saturday afternoon to play the College of Wooster Fighting Scots at 1 p.m.
