The Wabash College tennis team evened its California record at 1-1 on Tuesday with a 4-3 victory over the University of La Verne.
Seniors Constantine Alexander (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) and Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) paired for an 8-4 victory at number one doubles, while Adam Van Zee (FR/Logansport, IN/Logansport) and Cameron Starnes (SR/Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) combined for an 8-5 win at third doubles to give Wabash the team point.
Alexander was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at second singles. Van Zee defeated Kevin Nguyen 6-1, 6-4 at number five singles to make the number six singles match the key for the final team point. Senior Hadi Motiee (Muncie, IN/Burris) dominated for the Little Giants, earning a 6-1, 6-0 victory to give Wabash the win.
The Little Giants are 6-5 for the season. Wabash will take on Whittier College on Thursday and Occidental on Saturday before returning to Indiana at the end of spring break.
